Geoffrey Stokes BSc (Hons), CEng, FIEE, FCIBSE, is the author of the first three editions of this guide. For many years he was the Chief Engineer of the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracts. Prior to that, he was the Technical Regulations Manager of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, now the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

He has served for many years on a number of technical committees of BSI, CENELEC, and IEC and is currently a member of the IET/BSI Joint Committee JPEL/64, which is responsible for the technical content of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) on behalf of the IET. He is also a member of the Wiring Regulations Policy Committee of the IET.

About the Book

This is the fourth edition of the Wiring Regulations Practical Guide, which takes into account the requirements of BS 7671:2008 Requirements for Electrical Installations (IEE Wiring Regulations Seventeenth Edition).

It contains important information on the new regulations that apply to special installations and locations such as bathrooms, swimming pools, camping/caravan sites, marinas, exhibition and show sites, photo voltaic systems, and floor and ceiling heating systems.
