Living in the Light A guide to Personal Transformation- for free

Living

Living in the Light is about this transformation of consciousness within each of us and in the world. My use of the terms “old world “and” new world “in this book refers to the old way of life we are abandoning and the new way of life we are creating.

For many of us, this time of year can be depressing as the world situation and our personal lives seem to be going from bad to worse. Many things seem to be falling apart and it seems as if they will continue to do so even more intensely, but on a deeper level, we do not feel that this is a negative thing. Rather than trying to open our eyes to the profound changes that are taking place, we are upset to the extent that we are emotionally attached to our old way of life and clinging to old patterns.

Paradoxical as it may seem, such change is the greatest blessing any of us can imagine. The truth is that the way of life we have followed for centuries is no longer tenable. While it was appropriate for its time, it does not take us where we need and want to go. Materialism and a focus on the external world were necessary in a time when physical survival was the primary concern. Patriarchal values and the traditional division of roles between men and women may have been necessary to protect the family for a period of time during our evolution.

About the Book

In Living in the Light, Shakti Gawain introduced a powerful new way to listen to one’s intuition and rely on it as a guiding force. In this newly revised edition of that classic work, she has further elaborated on the original ideas and added aspects of her own experience and learning process over the past 12 years.
